Registration FAQ
I don’t understand the registration types. What’s the difference between Attendee, Panelist, Exhibition Hall, and Volunteer?
Everyone who attends Ikasucon is considered to be registered with the convention, so we lump all of those links under the Registration heading on our website. Here’s a breakdown of what each type means:
Attendee – Attendees make up the majority of the convention. If you’re paying for a badge and just coming out to enjoy the show, this is your registration type.
Panelist – If you’d like to run a panel at Ikasucon, you’ll need to register with us as a Panelist. Submitting a panel or workshop does not count as registering for you badge. Sadly, we must require that panelists purchase an Attendee badge prior to submitting their panels, but Panelist Registration can get you a refund on part or all of your badge if you present enough programming during the convention. More information can be found on the Panelist page.
Exhibition Hall – Artist Alley participants and Vendors register for a spot in our Exhibition Hall. Registering as an Artist Alley participant or a vendor provides a booth space in the Exhibition Hall and a certain number of badges. More information can be found on the Exhibition Hall page.
Volunteer – A convention needs great volunteers to run, and we are happy to open Volunteer registration up to add to our wonderful and hardworking staff. Volunteer staff are accepted by their Department Head or Director and will be contacted by them prior to the con. If you submit an application to volunteer and do not hear back within a week, please e-mail info@ikasucon.org so we can make sure the Department Head or Director has received your application.
Where are the links to the registration pages?
Our website uses a drop-down menu navigation. If you hover over the Registration link at the top of the page with your mouse or click the arrow to expand the menu on your mobile device you’ll find a page for each registration type.
What’s the deal with Pre-Registration?
Pre-Registration allows us to offer badges at a cheaper rate if they are purchased early. All pre-registrations are for 3-day passes, allowing you to attend Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Ikasucon. The price of pre-registration is different depending on how early you buy your badge.
January 16, 2016 – $30.00
March 21, 2016 – $35.00
June 13, 2016 – $40.00
I missed the deadline for Pre-Registration, can I still get into the con?
Yes! We will be accepting registrations at the door. On-Site Registration will open at 10:00am on Friday, July 8, 2016. Here are the prices for On-Site badges:
Friday – $35.00
Saturday – $40.00
Sunday – $30.00
3-Day / Weekend – $45.00
