Cosplay Masquerade

The most exciting event in Ikasucon cosplay is undoubtedly the Masquerade Competition on Saturday. Participating cosplayers will get to strut their stuff on our main stage and show off all that hard work they’ve been putting in, and our audience will have the opportunity to ooh and ahh to their heart’s content. Then, of course, there are the skits–so much to enjoy!

Cosplay Uncensored (NEW for 2017!)

Participating in the Cosplay Masquerade is always good clean family fun. Up until now, perhaps some of your more risque ideas have had to be swept aside. This year, that all changes. Ikasucon is hosting its very first 18+ Cosplay event! Burlesque acts! Swearing! Drag Queen Lip Syncs! Yaoi! Yuri! Raunchy Comedy! Everything your heart desires! IDs will be checked at the door, so be ready to be amused by not only the entrants but our panel of judges as well!

Cosplay Panels & Workshops

Our Cosplay Staff will be on hand and in the panel rooms ready to teach! They’ve prepared several outstanding panels and workshops to run throughout the weekend–and these don’t include any cosplay panels that you might run!

 

Cosplay is Not Consent

With conventions and cosplay becoming more and more popular, we have had to deal with the rising number of harassment claims. Come find out what you can do to not only help yourself, but others as well.

 

Masquerade Stage Presence 101
Nerves get to us all, but with a few basic things, you can make it look as though you are ready for anything! Learn some basics of posing and stage presence, as well as microphone etiquette, to help with making your Masquerade entries the best that they can be!
Meet the Judges
They will be looking over your hemlines, inspecting your seams, and judging your skits. Come meet the people who hold the fate of your cosplay in your hands! Come learn some fun facts, and ask some questions of your Cosplay judges and staff, and see what they will be looking for!
Body Positivity

There is a lot of negativity and judgment that goes on in the cosplay community.  Shaming is something we all have had to deal with. Join us for a roundtable discussion about how to combat hate with positivity and love.
